How Will My Donation Be Spent

The charity is not funded by national or local government to deliver our important work. All donations are used to further the work of the charity and fulfill its aims and objectives.

We are a very small dedicated team led by Sylvia. There are 3 full time and 2 part time staff members. We are based in a small office and keep our overhead costs at a minimum.

We are paid to go into schools etc but often have to work unpaid to promote our work and make initial contact with the police and other professionals. We use donations to cover these costs, develop and purchase promotional materials and generally cover the costs of running the foundation. In accordance with the law we publish our accounts on the Charities Commission Website. http://apps.charitycommission.gov.uk/Showcharity/RegisterOfCharities/CharityWithoutPartB.aspx?RegisteredCharityNumber=1129689&SubsidiaryNumber=0

The Sophie Lancaster Foundation is actively lobbying Parliament to drive a change in the hate crime legislation to support and protect sub cultures, and some funds will be used to facilitate this ongoing drive.

I've Been a Victim of Attack. How Do I Report This?

The police view any kind of physical or threatening verbal attack as very serious and have a duty to help victims.

We urge you to report any incidents or crimes you experience to your local Police on 101... This is very important as it helps the police build a picture of what is happening where you live and if they do not know what has happened to you they cannot help you or others who may also be victims.

True Vision has important information for reporting Hate crime with a field for "other" for Alternatives to use.

You can also call Crime Stoppers on 0800 555111 FREE0800 555111 (UK).
