The accolade had been awarded in The Queen's Birthday Honours List but Sylvia travelled to London with her guests last week.

The OBE was given for "Community Cohesion - especially in reduction of hate crime". This recognition of all her hard work in memory of Sophie was received with Sylvia's usual humility.

The Prince gave his condolences, paying respect to Sophie and commended Sylvia for her work with the charity. She replied that we worked with his own charity, The Prince's Trust.

Sylvia wore black (what else??) and carried a velvet black bag with a skull on it to represent all our alternative supporters everywhere.

There was lots of media coverage and many focused on her work in the field of hate crime as well as that bag !To see what else she had to say  to the media please follow the links
