The International Humanist Conference in Bucharest proved to be a very positive step for the charity.
Sylvia's presentation was received very positively indeed with delegates from many countries expressing their support for our work.
Over 40 of them also attended our full presentation organised by The Black Cat Campaign volunteers the evening before. They were clearly moved by the powerful message Sylvia delivered.
Following the conference, we had talks with Remus Cernea, the Romanian Green Party MP (who had invited us there). Remus explained how they have no hate crime legislation in Romania and he asked if Sylvia and SOPHIE would work with them to help develop a stategy to change that. We are proud and excited by this prospect.
It was great to meet so many old and new friends. We had the chance to thank Professor Richard Wiseman for the generous donation he and his friends comedian Robin Ince and Professor Brian Cox had made to the charity following their show in London last December.
We look forward to working with people as we all wish to make the world a safer, more just place.
