On the 6th April we received a message from James Harrett from Salford which read
"I am being sponsored to shave my head in a few days time, and will be donating the proceeds to your cause. My first proper haircut in 12 years!"
True to his word, without any publicity and with a handful of his friends watching James did the deed as promised !
James raised an amazing £256 for The Sophie Lancaster Foundation, he said
"I've been blown away by how supportive my friends, family and colleagues have been. As an added bonus, I found out there are charities that take donated hair to make wigs for children; I'll be keeping the ponytail intact to send on to one of those, most likely the Little Princess Trust. That way I can help two causes in one go!"
When I asked James what it was like to have short hair after 12 years he said
"I'm starting to get used to having no/short hair now... In fact, I kind of like it :) ......
I'm just glad to be doing something to help."
Thanks James and all your generous friends for your support.
