It has been with great pleasure that Sylvia has been out and about meeting many young people from different projects.

The Talent Studio Film Screenings at The Vue Cinema in Bury was a brilliant way to spend a night with so many talented young film makers. We had been invited to watch "1 in 4 " a very special tribute to Sophie. It raised the very real issue that bullying and violence can lead to serious mental health illness for the victims. the poetry by Ryce was so moving and meeting him was a very special moment for them both. he is now sporting hos S.O.P.H.I.E wristband with pride !

Congratulations to all involved in the eight film and good luck with your future projects.

The work undertaken in many schools and colleges to tackle the subject of discrimination and diversity often includes Sophie's case and the work of the Foundation.

Recently, Sylvia has been to some of those colleges, and at Stafford College she was delighted to join the students who had been learning about SOPHIE. Their Diversity Day was really inspiring !

Derby College contacted us asking of Sylvia could collect the proceeds of their "Ten Penny Fingerprint Pledge" to stamp out discrimination. Of course she said a big YES !

The students collected money within the college environment from students and staff and asked them to pledge the money and place their fingerprint on a poster to stamp out discrimination. They made a CD of songs all relating to being different and played this during the activity. They raised £215 pounds in total between 10.00am and 3.00pm.

What a fantastic group of people ! we cannot thank you all for helping us shape Sophie's legacy.

As a youth worker, Sylvia is always delighted to see such positive work being done and that it is in Sophie's name is just wonderful.
